Booking Through Thursday's Question of the Week is:
What’s the funniest book you’ve read recently?
This was a really hard question to answer because the books I immediately thought of weren't supposed to be funny. When I look at the books I've read this year/recently, these are the ones that made me laugh:
1) The Color Purple by Alice Walker. (Not a funny book but as Celie grows as a character, her sense of humour develops through her narrative and she's a riot.)
2) Skinny Bitch by Rory Freedman & Kim Barnouin. (It's a non-fiction book on what you eat. Great fun and hilarious.)
3) Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. (Ohhhh, I'm so mean. I laughed through the ridiculousness of this book - It had been hyped up and I was disappointed with what I'd read.)
I really need to read more typically funny books.

I couldn't go on reading past the first page of Twilight because I couldn't stop sniggering. So awful.

I read the Color Purple so long ago I don't remember much about it. I've been meaning to get around to Skinny Bitch. Mindless Eating had some really funny studies on people's eating habits.
I sooo agree with you on Twilight. But I still read the ENTIRE series!
Mae - I totally agree with you but I still read the second book (which was actually an improvement).
Gautami - Haha Maybe. Horror flicks these days aren't what they used to be though, they are pretty laughable.

Kerri - Skinny Bitch is definitely worth it. It really opens your eyes to what you eat.
Lahni - Same here. I bought the first three books (they were 3 for the price of 2) thinking I'd love them. I hated the first book but still read on because I didn't want to feel as though I was wasting my money!
